We are a registered 501(c)(3) Nonprofit community theater incorporated in the State of Indiana, and active in the local Indianapolis-area cities of Fishers, Carmel, Zionsville, Castleton, Noblesville, Westfield, and Plainfield.
Being the first of its kind in the United States, our Islamic community theater strives to provide an accommodating and inclusive place for its Muslim actors and theatre enthusiasts. This theater serves the Muslim communities of central Indiana through the art of theatrical performance curated under Islamic values and traditions. Aside from seasonal productions, LITC hosts Muslim acting competitions, improv nights, cultural events, and group field trips. Our mission is simple: We provide a space for young Muslims to express themselves artistically and provide halal Islamic entertainment to Muslim communities. Our values are based upon the need to provide religious accommodations, and a halal environment, for Muslims actors and artists who wish to practice their thespian and performance craft. Unfortunately, the world of secular theatre has become almost hostile for Muslim actors to express themselves Islamically in professional and community productions; this is why Lantern Islamic Theater’s services are important. Muslim actors can perform their deen (religion) without compromising it.
Performing our Deen
Teaching our craft to our unique Muslim actors
Spreading our artistic craft to Muslim and non-Muslim audiences across the nation
Interested in getting involved with our theater?
